Montreal, February 13, 2023 - In celebration of the Conseil québécois de la musique's mention of excellence for our webcast concert CHALEURS, we have decided to make it available again, this time for free on the Vimeo platform, for a limited time only.

The 50-minute concert is available from now until February 20th inclusively. Discover or rediscover this colossal work by Walter Boudreau in an original staging, presented by Quasar in co-production with Groupe Le Vivier on February 18, 2022 in the Espace Orange of the Wilder Building.

Montréal, February 6 2023 – This Sunday, in the Bourgie Hall of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, was held the 26th ceremony of the prestigious Opus Awards. It was on this occasion that Quasar won its tenth Opus Prize in its career for the self-produced album Disque Bleu. Congratulations to the five composers and thank you to our collaborators without whom this project would not have been possible.

Montreal, November 25th, 2022 On this 28th anniversary of the founding of the Quasar Quartet, we are pleased to announce that we are finalists for two Opus Awards! Our Montreal-Hanover concert, in collaboration with Quatuor Bozzini and Groupe Le Vivier, is nominated in the category "Concert of the Year - Modern, Contemporary Music", while our latest album, Disque Bleu, is nominated in the category "Album of the Year - Contemporary Music, Electroacoustic".

On December 15, the Conseil Québécois de la Musique announced its nominations for the Opus Awards Gala of the 2020-2021 season, which will take place on March 6th.

We are very pleased and honored to announce that our latest album De Souffles et de Machines III is one of the finalists in the Album of the Year in the category - Current, Electro-acoustic Music!

We are still on cloud 9 about the 24th Opus Awards Gala, where we won the “International Outreach” award! A huge thank you to the Conseil québécois de la musique and to CINARS for their consideration!

Quasar takes away 2 trophies at the Opus Prize gala!

This past January 19th the 23rd gala of the Opus Prize was held, presented by the Conseil québécois de la musique at the magnificent Salle Bourgie of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. Nominated in 3 categories, we were in fine figure as we walked away with the 7th and 8th Opus prizes of our career!

We are honored to be the recipients of the 2019 Friends of Canadian Music Award, presented by the Canadian League of Composers and the Canadian Music Centre! The award recognizes the contributions of those who have demonstrated exceptional national commitment to Canadian composers and their music. Our thanks to the selection committee!

Part of the award helps support the efforts of an early-stage composer. We have chosen to offer a commission to the multi-talented composer Myriam Bleau, who will work with us for the 10th edition of our Série Électro.

On November 21, 2018, the Conseil québécois de la musique announced the Opus Prize nominations for the 2017-2018 season.
