Encounters with contemporary art
Concert
Description
As part of the Visual Art Symposium presented by the Maison de la culture Claude-Léveillé, Quasar is pleased to invite you to two outdoor performances on June 15th. The quartet is proud to participate in this fine celebration of Montreal creation and its greater appreciation by presenting two works intrinsically linked to visual art, namely Passage by Yannick Plamondon, inspired by contemporary painting techniques, and Cathédrale-Lumière by Analia Llugdar, created after La Robe Cathédrale, a masterful work by visual artist Carole Simard-Laflamme.
Also, join our baritone saxophonist Jean-Marc Bouchard on June 1, 5 and 12 at the same location, where he will offer musical accompaniment during the walkabout of the main exhibition of the Symposium.
A multidisciplinary event not to be missed!
Program
The presentations will be divided into three parts. The first, outdoors at 3:00 pm, will offer an opportunity to discover the rich programme uniting the works of Reich, ter Velhuis, Gougeon, Derome and Gregory. The second part, presented inside the Maison de la culture, will revolve around the grand works of Plamondon and Llugdar. Finally, the last performance outside at 5:00 pm will reprise the program presented at 3:00 pm.
