Geneviève Ackerman

Ed Ackerman

After completing an undergraduate degree in composition at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, Geneviève founded a musical theater company, "Le Théâtre du Radeau", a meeting place between poetry, theater, music and dance. Deeply influenced by the work of Meyerhold, Antonin Artaud, Grotowski, and Piña Bausch, she founded this essentially experimental theater with the idea of continuing the research work on theatrical material that was set in motion throughout the 20th century, while taking root in Greek tragedy, the great ghostly heritage of our modern theaters. She continues, in parallel to the life of the company, to work in the field of musical composition, with the joy of work made of patience, slowness and solitude.
