Une même voix is a work that explores the contrasts and commonalities of language, culture and national identity. It was inspired by the complexity of belonging, the lonely journey of finding one’s place and the fear of being misunderstood. The concept emerged by questioning how does identity creates when we move from place to place, or coming from more than one culture: to belong to multiple places and nowhere at the same time, finding pride and strength despite having no geographical outline.
As interlocutors of foreign languages, this work was built from a close collaboration between two disciplines and artists from different backgrounds, acknowledging there is always a way to find common grounds in the body, the movement and the sound.
