Description
Returning from its tour in the Baltic countries, the Quasar saxophone quartet comes back to Montreal with a concert at the Chapelle historique du Bon-Pasteur. Three works of the tour repertoire will be presented: Pulau Dewata by Claude Vivier, Geyser Ghetto by Michel Frigon and Endings by the Lithuanian composer Justé Janulyte. Commissioned by the Gaïda Festival, Endings was created in Vilnius on October 15th. The composer will be in Montreal for the occasion. As a testimony of its visit to Tallin, Quasar will also present Öö of the Estonian composer Helena Tulve.
Quasar will also present to Montreal audiences Durch in memoriam Gérard Grisey by French composer Fabien Lévy. The composer-in-residence at the Chapelle historique du Bon-Pasteur, Paul Frehner is also on the program of this evening with the work Pill Culture created by Quasar in 2000.
