Miguel Azguime

Composer, poet, percussionist Miguel Azguime was born in Lisbon in 1960. The relationship between Miguel Azguime and Miguel Azguime as composer - tand herefore between his musical writing and poetic writing - gave rise to a unique approach between text and music, which he designates as electroacoustic theater and New Op-Era.
Miguel Azguime has won numerous composition and performance awards and has received commissions from numerous national and international institutions, both public and private. His music includes works for various groups, most of which use electronic means in real time. His music has been performed by renowned soloists and ensembles and presented at major international festivals. Miguel Azguime has been composer in residence in a number of creation studios, notably at the Heinrich Stroebel Experimental Studio of the Sudwestfunk (Freiburg, Allemgane), Electronic Music Studio (EMS) (Stockholm, Sweden), Center Henri Pousseur (Liège, Belgium), TU Studio of the Technische Universität (Berlin, Germany), Visby International Center for Composers (Sweden), and the Sonology Department of Kunitachi University (Tokyo, Japan).
